Sugar Hooker's name is derived from a song about sugar obsession written by founder Jerra Spence. The lyrics: "I'm a sugar hooker, hooked on sugar" are relevant in a culture of food addicts, a growing diabetes epidemic, and obesity. The acronym S.H.E. lends itself to its all-female run staff. Putting women in the entertainment business and the fashion business, and giving young women a chance to advance their passions, is a major focus for the company.
